Another weekly sports betting update.

We put week 39 of 2012 sports betting in the books.

While not a stellar week, we did manage to claw some back for the good guys. Always handy and always what we aim for at http://www.professionalgambler.com.au

Week 38 of sports investing

Hard to believe that we are now into 38 weeks of 2012 sports investing

Seems like only recently we enjoyed the superbowl, and a winner, with friends.

Tuesday, 23 October 2012

Week 38 starts with Monday Night Football.

Wild Wild monday night football. Had the teaser (under / Detroit +12.5) and the under 46.5 get in for us for a 2-0 day in sportsbetting

Sunday, 21 October 2012

Week 36, the year just won't fire up

Still even for the 2012 fund, struggling to really push out and gather some units up for the professional gambler site.

Not always easy this sports investment caper.

NFL - What a sport

NFL is one of the best games in the world.

I posted a video with the best plays of 2011. Check it out

Week 35 now... year is flying by.

Results for week 35 of sports investment have been posted to the blog.

We are still patient about our long term horizon, and keep taking our positions on the sports betting markets that we feel are most attractive.

Hope your year is progressing well.

AFL trades up and about

The introduction of free agency has really thrown grenades into what would otherwise be a pretty mild trade period. From a sports betting point of view, it's far more important to focus on NFL and MLB than to get caught up in who goes where.

Assess when the dust settles.

Hot blooded punting

As if everyone doesn't know that emotional punting will kill your chances at being a profitable gambler. I am just here to repeat that to you again.

Coming Back... after a break

After just a short break post grand final, we are refreshed, and back at the blog.

Disappointing result for Hawthorn supporters. 2008 a similar thing happened to Geelong when Hawthorn kicked straight and snatched it.

Tuesday, 25 September 2012

Week of alright sports betting returns.

Week 33 and we are grinding away. Sports investment is a tough gig, and we will keep trucking on and on and on to 2013.

Love sports investment and we will be here for a long time to come.

Week 2 of the AFL Finals - a late but important sports investment update

Week 2 was a week where both favourites covered the bookmakers spread and AFL settles it's preliminary finalists. AFL betting is alive and well in 2012.

Friday, 21 September 2012

Collingwood depart from season 2012 AFL

Not really hating Collingwood... we dislike all teams equally... we think you have to if you are a serious sports investment player. Every team has let you down at one time or another.

Out of touch this year when it mattered the Pies. Not a terrible year though.

Wednesday, 19 September 2012

Week 32 yo! Sports betting.

Season change over to NFL and NCAAF means that a sports investment player is busier than ever. We cover the week 32 results here.

Nice ... solid baseball betting

Over at the blog, our baseball betting of late has been a little bit average. We are still putting up the usual efforts and looking in the regular place, but we are just struggling to hit our spots.

So due for a turnaround it isn't funny.

Tuesday, 11 September 2012

Week 31. Yeah - its in the books as well.

Week 31 of the 2012 sports investment year. It was a poor week. Losing weeks are as certain as the day is longs.

Gotta stay strong and keep investing through the storm.

Saturday, 8 September 2012

Big first week of finals footy.

Can you believe that 2012 AFL finals are upon us? Hawks are outright, solid favourites for the flag - in to $1.70 now.

Our AFL betting has been poor. A tough year. Fighting for everthing. Chins up, and continuing.

Thursday, 6 September 2012

Early lines that interest for week 1 finals of AFL

AFL betting in week one finals...

early thoughts, are Fremantle + points, Collingwood +...

Who's betting this weekend?

Tuesday, 4 September 2012

Ross Lyon and Fremantle

Feeling that the move to put Ross Lyon in charge of Fremantle is really paying off. I think he is so uncompromising that the players really do like having him there as a coach. For a sports betting perspective, he is a good one to follow in.

Over at the blog we are 30 weeks into the sports betting year. Things have been crawling along. We keep going.

Saturday, 1 September 2012

Well, Round 23 of AFL - Can you believe it?

AFL regular season is essentially done for the year. Only finals remain, and the Hawks appear to have a Grand Final berth in the bag. Only question is ... can they get it done? We will be there AFL betting the whole way.

AFL 2012 finals set

The final 8 for 2012 - hence the finals make-up of week 1, has been decided.

Should be a fantastic finals series, with Geelong vs Fremantle an exciting clash I know we will be looking at closely at www.professionalgambler.com.au

good luck to your teams.

The End of the 2012 AFL season

Coming to a close is the 2012 AFL betting season. Would be nice to drag another +50 units or so on top of the 50 or so units we already have in the kitty.

We stay focussed, and the wins will come. Would be nice in MLB betting would turn around as well.

Tuesday, 28 August 2012

Week 29 of 2012 sports investment year accounted for.

MLB players are mailing it in at this time of the year - not all the time, but enough to cause some dramas with our sports investment positions. Follow our progress at the www.professionalgambler.com.au website and join in if you'd like.

Monday, 27 August 2012

Preview for round 22 AFL Betting and Sports investment

The review of round 22 AFL betting has been completed and posted to the blog. For other sections of the website, we are still in need of some tinkering - but things are coming along well. We feel that after AFL and MLB we should be able to really pick at the site and get it all settled.

Psychological Issues with Sports Investment

All too often, the sports investment player wants to win, instead of focusing on long term profit opportunities awarded through sports markets.

Losses on an investment can ause players to want to immediately win back the lost money. The pain of a loss often hurts too much for people to bear. That brings their undoing.

Slow and steady is the only way to win the sports gambling race.

Wednesday, 22 August 2012

How long, how looong will I slide on betting?

The Red Hots said it best.

How long will I slide? Well, we have been diligent for a while now, and are just not getting the rewards for our sports betting study.

Only thing to do is to keep going.

Tuesday, 21 August 2012

Dr. Sport Sports Investments

Sports investment for 2012 has been trickling along. Things have been going well, with a few results that didn't fall our way making all the difference.

2012 is still only half way, and we are so very due for a good run approaching. Looking forward to closing out baseball strongly and heading into a strong NFL season.

Monday, 20 August 2012

Go Lions... Brisbane Lions!

The biggest upset of the week from a gambling perspective, with the Lions really doing a number on the Crows up at the GABBA. Would have not liked to be in the Adelaide rooms after that one. A poor show by the crows and Sanderson appeared to be ropeable - and rightly so.

Thursday, 16 August 2012

Round 20 in the books... rough on paper, but we were all over it.

Sometimes (read often !) in sports betting you can be happy with your selections, but still lose due to a combination of terrible luck. Such as Tom Hawkins going off last Friday night. You'd have to think that with him in the team we take the win there.

Likewise with Sydney on Saturday. We had the right sit there, and couldn't get it done.

Wednesday, 15 August 2012

The Hustler of Betting.

Have a copy of a good betting movie - or so I hear - "The Hustler". I'll probably throw it into the DVD player tonight after I finish work on the blog. It rates fairly high at Rotten Tomatoes. Especially seeing it is from the 1960s

Tuesday, 14 August 2012

Darkness of week 27 sports betting

a rough week sees us drop a whopping -172 units. The worst week of the year by far. Sports investment comes in fits and starts, and we grade the year. Important to not get too upset by the ups and downs that are part and parcel of a year of investment

Saturday, 11 August 2012

Round 20 Preview

This weekend has a couple of games that are best not betting into. We see them as "cursed" - the "no matter which way you choose you are going to be wrong" type of games!

Richmond vs Western Bulldogs, GC vs GWS, Essendon vs North Melbourne.

We shall stay away from them at www.professionalgambler.com.au !

Thursday, 9 August 2012

Battle for the Top of the Table.

Sydney? Hawthorn? Collingwood... even Geelong? All could stake a case.

This years AFL premiership season is going to be a ripping finish. So many teams so close and keen to extend their stranglehold over various sections of the ladder.

http://www.professionalgambler.com.au

Tuesday, 7 August 2012

Posting amongst the games.

Olympics as opposed to professional sport - is there any difference? You can still bet on it so for us there is little difference.

There can be some good value in the games actually, if you know where and what to look for. Our sports results continue on regardless.

Monday, 6 August 2012

Working on it - Live betting round up

Live betting is a long slow education in sports investment - and takes a long long time to truly master - like anything that contains a lot of profit through its mastery.

Stick with your live betting, learn as much as you can and continue to take notes. Not many do and you will be far ahead.

Sunday, 5 August 2012

Remember the Round 19 game? Hawks vs Geelong?

Tom Hawkins slots one after the siren and kills the Hawks dream of breaking the hoodoo AKA the curse of Kennet, in their round 19 clash at the MCG. Great betting was to be had in this one, with $4.20 on offer about the Cats leading up to the bounce.

Wednesday, 1 August 2012

Week 25 of the 2012 Sports Betting Year in the Books

Week 25 may be the turning point. It just feels like it. We had a winning end to the week and we are well and truly due for a bit of a comeback in our sports punting. We will have to see how things carry on from here.

Tuesday, 31 July 2012

Round 18 AFL Betting done... it was an alright week.

A reasonable week of AFL sports betting. Overall it has still been a pretty dissappointing year  - but the year is not over yet. Look forward to putting up a few units over the next few weeks and on into finals in our sports betting.

Sunday, 29 July 2012

The (late) preview of Round 18 AFL Betting

Was up and on the phones on Saturday morning, sorting out our positions for Saturday AFL betting. Things went quite well and we went 2 - 0 on the day. Was feeling it.

It's a shame this form didn't carry over into the MLB betting. Has seriously SUCKED lately.

Friday, 27 July 2012

Olympics are here!

After what seemed like a long wait - the olympics are here! Already some minor sportsbetting controversy with the Australian flagbearer betting market seeming to be leaked somehow ensued and a plunge ensued on Lauren Jackson - the eventual flagbearer.

Thursday, 26 July 2012

Coping with the sports investment drawdowns.

Determination is needed in the face of sports investment in a drawdown. This is what it feels like, - much like the wolves are at the door.

We keep going, stick to the plan and pull the trigger. We keep betting the AFL, taking our MLB signals, and waiting for the worm to turn our way

Tuesday, 24 July 2012

Rough week of sports betting

We drop a few units this week, quite a few. That is how sports investment goes - we have a bad week, we have good weeks and very good weeks. We just do the maths and we very usually profit.

Friday, 20 July 2012

Essendon found wanting

Geelong came out firing tonight at Etihad stadium, and our AFL betting position gets up. AFL is slowly starting to claw it's way back - and we have been rewarded for not getting too excited or distressed and throwing units around randomly.

Wednesday, 18 July 2012

Pushing back

The positions are pushing back. All traders and those involved with markets know that markets can deteriorate and break down on you. That is what we are experiencing at the moment with our sports investment markets. AFL betting has come back to level and MLB is still struggling along. Could be an average year of +30% only.

Monday, 16 July 2012

A couple of interesting tribunal for footy betting impacts

Tonight, Chris Judd will face the tribunal. Without him, Carlton will struggle to get the cover this weekend is one opinion we hear from a respected punter. AFL betting means we need to get the best of the lines. We wait on Juddy's outcome.

Sunday, 15 July 2012

Round 16 in the books

A nice day of footy betting today. A lot of line movement this week as teams were favoured in the betting and were subsequently supported at the bookies.

Keep things disciplined and bet tight.

Saturday, 14 July 2012

Melbourne lose a likely cover.

The Dees didn't get there for us in today's AFL betting. Injuries costing a certain cover and maybe even an outright win. With Jamar off, the Dees were forced to put Stefan Martin in the ruck - robbing them of a dedicated forward target. He tired towards the end and became ineffective, doubling the blow to the dees. Knee injury to Bennell drained dash from the dees forward 50.

Lines moving in AFL betting Markets.

Taking a position early on a game when betting AFL can sometimes have a consequence of taking a bad number. If the number moves, it can result in your taking a number that is 2 - or sometimes 3 or 4 points worse by the time the bounce comes around.

The cost of taking a position is sometimes it can be contrarian - and the line moves against you.

Just hope it doesn't happen too often, and if it does happen - the point or two doesn't come into play.

The AFL wrap up is here again.

No dreamteam of supercoach for me in 2012. Just afl betting and a week by week approach. This week we covered the 15th week of AFL betting.

Things are going ok believe it or not. Thought we could be down more than this given the results that have gone our way.

Wednesday, 11 July 2012

Weeks go by for punters

Another week of professional gambling has been and gone - and it was a little bit of a drawdown week for us.

We worked hard, for no rewards with our betting results. With a shortened week this week we will have to see if we can turn this around and move back in the right direction.

Sunday, 8 July 2012

Home run Derby is here.

With professional gambling - there are many experts that we can learn from. It would make sense to learn as much from people like this if we can - and then apply what we learn. One of those experts is Billy Walters.

Refocussing for post all - star break. Enjoy the home run derby!

Round 15 up and about...

Definitely the best game in the world. Some great games and some great betting was had this weekend.

How has your season been going?

Thursday, 5 July 2012

Round 14 of AFL 2012 done and done

A good week is nice. If only every week was like that with sports investment and professional gambling.

Looking forward to this weekends games, and hope we get some good results falling our way. we are due for a good week.

Wednesday, 4 July 2012

Tuesday, 3 July 2012

Nice week of sports investment

2012 sports investment continues to shine for us, with a good positive week of MLB and AFL betting.

It is important to work hard, but also stay persistent in the face of poor weeks of sports betting results

Monday, 2 July 2012

The Bookies keeping things safe

Favourites saluting is nothing new. But we cannot bet them blindly - this is one of the confusing aspects of punting, indicating the need for your own approach to things punting.

Sunday, 1 July 2012

Favourites this week.

Favourites are really up and about this week. So much so that it could reshape the ledger in the wrap up mid week next week.

Sports investment - such a tricky game.

Saturday, 30 June 2012

Gambling Books - Read to learn

Gambling books are an often underutilised form of gambling knowledge. There are plenty of them out there, and I challenge any punter to read one and NOT learn something that they can apply in their gambling or sports investing.

Look to get into it.

Every new member

Every time we get a new client at professionalgambler.com.au we get a little bit excited.

Excited that you will win money. Excited that we have a new believer. Excited that you will stop losing.

Just excited.

Wednesday, 27 June 2012

Rocking and rolling with the punches.

Week 20 of 2012 sports investing is in the books. Nearly half way there for the year. The ups and downs continue - there is nothing surer.

Tuesday, 26 June 2012

Round 13 of AFL betting. What's on offer?

The last week of the bye rounds are here up us. Thats cool for sports investment - we can go back to basics with a full 9 round weekend.

We have been struggling, and the struggling continues as far as AFL is concerned. We will have a few hits soon enough

Monday, 25 June 2012

The Black Caviar Betting Post

We gave out a strong betting proposition on Black Caviar, and only those who do not have a betting account could take advantage of the Black Caviar "double odds" bonus.

Some rare generosity from the bookies ... there must have been something in it for them!

Sunday, 24 June 2012

The shocking run

All investments have their down periods. We are suffering through one right now with both AFL and MLB battling away at the minute for our service.

I know things will turn, but while you are in it you feel like you can't see where the next winner will come from. Don't worry, this is normal. Ride it through and stay strong.

Saturday, 23 June 2012

Wrap up for Round 12 AFL

Round 12 AFL has been and gone, with the professional gambler team struggling to make an impact with our speculative positions.

We move on, and as we know, we tend to make pretty good comebacks.

Friday, 22 June 2012

Week 19 on the blog.

Week 19 of sports betting is in the books. We are battling away and treading water at the moment, waiting for those bumper weeks.

When we finally get those +150 unit weeks we can take a couple of steps forward. In the meantime we practice discipline.

Swans/Geelong and we take the draw

Friday night game at the SCG. Geelong play the swans at Skilled and we have a totally different sportsbetting market.

A real ripping start to the game from the Swans so far, up 7 goals to 1.

Thursday, 21 June 2012

New Look Blog

Our new look blog "soft launched" today.

Hope we can get it looking as good as we hope. Will be much better for us all.

Betting Golf and Making Money from it.

When betting PGA tournaments, Statistics and Angles are your best friend.

Statistics - such as scrambling, putting yards gained, greens in regulation percentage and so on all contribute vital information about player performance - that when combined with qualitative assesment of the players - angles - gives you your adjusted number. This is the number you need to bet with.

Monday, 18 June 2012

PGA Golf finishes up.

US Open golf has been and gone, and we had a losing tournament. Our position on the last day had us risking 31 units and we fell short.

Had this bet had won, we would have found ourselves in a winning position. We move on.

Sunday, 17 June 2012

The Proposition Bet

Always great for a punt, the proposition bet consists of "propositions" funnily enough, that pay out significantly larger that a usual pointspread or standard moneyline bet.

In afl betting these consist of points brackets for teams, such as 1-39 points, over 40 points and so on.

Saturday, 16 June 2012

Can the Lions salute tomorrow at +51.5 points?

Not given a chance to win means we can claim +51.5 @ 1.952 in most sports betting markets about the lions.

A position we will consider as we run through some numbers

Friday, 15 June 2012

The Adelaide Crows just plain old fall in for money line backers, but not us

This Adelaide team ... Guys, when 30 points up, why wouldn't you ice the game, instead of continuing to run the ball up hell for leather?

Posession football anyone? For the sports investors out there, you are killing us! lol

Wednesday, 13 June 2012

Week 18 in action

Baseball betting is a beast unto itself. MLB teams can both score heavily, or put up 0's despite a great average on paper.

Best to take it with a grain of salt. Keep going with it though, it is one of the most profitable games.

Tuesday, 12 June 2012

Go billy brownless - Geelong legend.

Round 11 AFL passed us, and the bye for 6 teams meant we were 3 games of AFL action short this week.

We covered round 11 at the blog - taking a look at the available lines.

Old school Billy.

Monday, 11 June 2012

Round 11 was short and sweet - AFL betting

AFL betting in round 11 was short and sweet. Two shots, one nice result, and one average one. We will finish ahead for the round which is nice.

Lately, the MLB betting focus is taking up more and more time. But AFL still presents great opportunites and cannot be forgotten. Round 10 betting results are at http://professionalgambler.com.au/2012/06/10/round-10-afl-2012-in-review-%E2%...

Sunday, 10 June 2012

Hawthorn get home in Adelaide.

Are they the real deal?

Hawthorn with another nice win away from home. Depending on what the 'Pies do tomorrow, outright favouritism might be just around the corner.

Friday, 8 June 2012

sports betting live... Australia lagging vegas

In las vegas, the ability to bet live is incredible. Each pitch of a baseball game has a huge amount of markets, each snap of the NFL ball the same.

It's the brainchild of a US brokerage and investment bank that is in partnership with casino's, offering up markets created by cutting edge finance software.

Here's to live betting getting this exciting down in Australia.

Great Gambling stories

Will probably do a post on this aspect of gambling - the great gambling story.

Every gambler has one. Full of excitement, reward and luck.

Sunday, 3 June 2012

13 Goals and Three upsets for AFL round 10 2012

Buddy Franklin was on fire this week down in Launceston. For sure you can't keep him down for long. Anybody who was investing on the Hawks had no dramas.

Saturday, 2 June 2012

Fremantle a little more up and about.

Over in the west, we liked Adelaide head to head. Just going to win they were. If only the price had the equivalent value for being in the west... instead the betting line showed $1.67.

Can't bet that as a selective sports investor.

Good to see that Fremantle showed some more grunt and effort. Even managed to kick a respectable score.

Friday, 1 June 2012

Richmond fire away and land a small plunge

Richmond were betting favourites by the time tonight's game against St. Kilda kicked off. The team is really up and about and is starting to hit targets regularly under pressure and play brilliant attacking football.

Great for the AFL at large. And great for betting.

Thursday, 31 May 2012

The bookmakers have a rough time?

Is there any sympathy at all for bookmakers - and should there be?

There are sometimes stings and hits that bookies get hit with - We will have to look at a few of them at the blog. It can be a tough gig.

Wednesday, 30 May 2012

The weekend of AFL betting

Prices are up for this weekend's AFL betting. The interesting ones on first glance are Richmond/St. Kilda, West Coast/Brisbane.

Remember this? hahaha

Tuesday, 29 May 2012

Why we love the texas rangers and MLB betting.

When you have a winning system for wagering, it's important to stick to it as closely as possible. If you are down, stick to the system, if you are up, stick to the system. If you are in need of excitement in betting? you got it - Stick to the system.

dr sport - who is the doctor?

Dr. Sport is the man who helps to call the shots here at www.professionalgambler.com.au

We are a partnership, but not exactly an equal one. We all have our own specialties, and when one of us talks on a topic, the others listen.

Sunday, 27 May 2012

Hey - What's going on here with dropped units?

Losses. A few in a row. Good money after bad! I'm getting worried! No need to. It's all part of a betting season's return profile. Two steps back then three forward sometimes.

Saturday, 26 May 2012

Nothing but some Expected Value

A season of punting can turn on a dime. You can be up and flying one week, then handing back units and struggling for wins the next. The longer we've been doing this, the longer we realise that all of that doesn't matter. Years pass and your performance either holds up, or doesn't.

Friday, 25 May 2012

Friday night footy.

Geelong and Western Bulldogs at the dome. Can they do it the dogs? getting +28.5 points is a real show. Sports investing in aussie rules.

Wednesday, 23 May 2012

Alright alright it's AFL!

I love reading about afl every day. They say AFL in Melbourne is a fishbowl, and they are 100% correct. In Melbourne playing for Melbourne Football Club is the biggest fishbowl of them all. Betting on the games makes it even more enjoyable.

Tuesday, 22 May 2012

A Corona is the best medicine for a enjoyable sports viewing evening.

Watching some MLB replays and enjoying a couple of Coronas. Just a couple. Responsible sports drinking and viewing. Blogging on some AFL issues a little later.

Monday, 21 May 2012

Do it - go shop for lines.

Sports betting requires thinking about what you are doing.

We thought about markets and percentages today. So we shared our thoughts.

Check it out at the sports betting blog.

The real gambling blog stuff

Keen to get some more sports betting philosophy type posts happening at the blog. "You can't eat philosophy" they say, but I never listened to "they".

It's important and I think we need to have it out there.

Saturday, 19 May 2012

A nice little profit turnaround

Good to add a few units at once. Not so good to lose a few at once. As much as you can - be like bruce lee says when it comes to investments. Be like water. Round 8 AFL up at the blog

Friday, 18 May 2012

Ripper game of 2012 - Round 8 Collingwood vs Geelong at the MCG

Are the physical demands of AFL football more significant than ever? I'd think so. Sports gambling aside, tonights game between Collingwood and Geelong had every player giving their all. Did it affect the quality of the game - I think it may be getting to that stage. Players being so physically drained that they are unable to execute skills and protect themselves as much as they could in the past.

Thursday, 17 May 2012

7 Rounds of AFL in, and still plenty of betting opportunities ahead

Round 7 of the AFL season left us with a little bit of a hole in the pocket as we go 0-3. We justblogged about it - well, on the blog - and showed how we take bad weeks with a grain of salt - there will be plenty of good weeks to follow!

Wednesday, 16 May 2012

Week 14 of Sports Betting settles slightly profitable, still 20%+ on the year

Week 14 closes out and we have shown a very slight profit for week 14. Look forward to turning around AFL, and avoiding any extending losses in AFL.

Tuesday, 15 May 2012

Round 7 AFL in the books - challenging season so far for investment

There will be profit at the end of the 2012 AFL season, it's just been a slow start for sports investment.

The reality is that not every sport we cover individually will have a fantastic year - but the balance of the results at years end is what counts.

A Possible Return of the State of Origin to Complement the AFL Season?

Yesterday Luke Ball offered the players' opinion at the Players Association Meeting recently, stating : "A straw poll of our players suggested there was strong interest in reviving some form of State of Origin or a 'best of' scenario. Not directly sports gambling related, but something that needs to be mentioned.

This is great news. We all miss the state of origin, which fell by the wayside as the professionalism and interest in it waned. This time around I think that support would be much greater - given the popularity of NRL State of Origin.

Adelaide's 2011 Sports Investment performance against the Bookies

The Adelaide Crows are the biggest turnaround team of 2012. If you take a look at our sports betting analysis of their 2011 season you can see the dramatic changes.

Brenton Sanderson take a bow.

Saturday, 12 May 2012

Poor performances in round 7 for sports bettors

when sports betting, being on the end of poor performances just plain sucks. Like Geelong yesterday, just didn't bring it. Brisbane Lions - have a habit of not bringing it.

As long as the team you have invested with "brings it" then that's all you can ask.

Are we sticking with the Video Reviews?

Just wrote a piece on AFL's adoption of the video review and how it is affecting games and people's opinions of it. As a sports investor, I do like it - but there is a vocal opposition to it.

What's your decision?

Friday, 11 May 2012

Happy team at Hawthorn

Big win tonight from the Hawks, who were otherwise woefully inaccurate. If they had failed to cover the -49.5 (which they did cover) then a lot of professional gamblers who took the hawks - not to mention the Hawks supporters themselves - would have been pissed!

Thursday, 10 May 2012

Sports betting blog posts coming up

yeah, the blog is heating up. Stop by for a comment if you have anything that might be worth blogging about, even if it is not specifically sports betting related

We will take a look at the AFL video review system in a post this week.

Here's one review from the NAB cup.

The sports betting theme of round 6 was aim, fire, miss!

The sports betting gods weren't smiling on our long shots last weekend. Sometimes you win the value propositions, but being a value proposition by definition you are getting a good price about a result that is more unlikely than likely. You'll still take your hits.

A philosophical sports betting post take two

At the sports betting blog we like to inform you of ways to do this thing right.

One of the most importsnt aspects is finding something that works. An approach that works. We discuss the most important statistic in sports betting, so check it out.

Where philosophy meets sports investment.

We like to discuss the philosophical nature of sports investment at the . Punters will be well served thinking about their approach to betting as a whole, and betting.consciously.

2012 week 12 sports investing results.

Straight up losing week. A bit of drawdown, the sports betting professionals bread and butter.

Passion for Sports Betting

A lot of work is required in the sports investment game and few out there are doing it. Without it, you will middle in performance... or lose money.

Decisions are not to be taken lightly, and it requires patience and confidence in what you do to succeed.

Richmond wins, St.Kilda fade, more sports investment stories from Round 6 AFL 2012

They said this weeks round lacked a blockbuster. I know we found no clear cut must-invest games for our sports betting strategy. It was almost like a bye week in a way.

I'll look for a busy MLB this week anyways.

AFL round 6 - real time sports betting.

Actually went to two AFL games this evening - the Essendon Brisbane game and the Saints Hawks game. One of the perks of investing in sport.

Brisbane did not fire. Flat, low on energy. Essendon meanwhile showed no signs of getting carried away. Stuck to structures, really pressured the ball carrier. Supported each other.

Saints were right in it until the last quarter. Was happy taking the $3.65 however.

Will probably leave tomorrow's AFL alone.

AFL, MLB together- great for profits, bad for time management.

Been so so  busy with MLB and AFL - so haven't been as regular here talking AFL investment and MLB wins and the amazing investment opportunity of sports investment.

Thursday, 3 May 2012

Watching football, or watching sports prices?

Both hopefully.

Markets tend to overreact. Lot's of value for professional gamblers can be found in-play - where the game is still in dispute, but the score has disparity.

A fancy way of saying "find value".

Dr sport tackles Melbourne and talks sports investment

Melbourne had a shocker in 2011. Everybody with even a passing interest in AFL knows this.

For a sports investment analysis of Melbourne's 2011 AFL season, see the blog.

If only every week of sports betting was so smooth

This week we were able to post a nice, healthy +29.5 units from our sports betting efforts.

Doesn't seem like much... One decent play over .500. But it translates to a +150% return on the year when you go 29.5 x 52.

Instead we have to rock and roll all year and see where the chips fall. Staying the course is the real effort.

Round 5 in the bag for AFL 2012 sports investment

Folks. Another great round, filled with generally good football. As far as sportsbetting profits go, I think we take a small win. Will know when we do accounting tonight.

Hope the week was kind to you all out there.

Do this sports investment thing...

Misread a game time today. Luckily it didn't affect things. Just goes to show that when you put your guard down in this sports betting game - then it can bite you on the ass.

Now Round 4 sportsbetting review post

Sports betting empire "on the low"

We just keep on going. Dedication and hard work is what it takes. That's why it is so tough to be good at this sports investment game.

Monday, 23 April 2012

Hmm... Fremantle

Is this team up and about? I'll do what professional sports gamblers need to do. Analyse.

Ross Lyon proving to be a pretty good extrator or performance.

This team outperforms.

look for a full update on positions tomorrow.

A reasonable weekend in sports betting

For sports investment purposes, it is always important to be a realist - and track how you are travelling as weeks unfold.

This weekend of sports investing, we were pretty close on two, and picked one beautifully. Essendon gets up for us (we had them to cover), and we fall one kick short with Collingwood - who just refuse to fire for us.

We had Geelong today who left the game plan in the shed at half time and couldn't keep up the momentum.

MLB has been average, but we are already quite far ahead, so we are happy to keep tracking along.

Enjoy your week,

Sammy

Great sports photos

As far as sports investment is concerned, we are taking the Bombers +43.5 and Collingwood -27.5 today in two seperate investments.

Both progressing well.

Now that we have that out of the way I figured i'd youtube "AFL greatest goal" and see what we get

Here is position one.

Online bookmakers bonuses are not sports investment friendly.

cool little post today. About the sports investment opinion of free sign up bonuses at online bookmakers.

Most punters will embrace sign up bonuses - not really understanding all of the wins the bookmaker will have off the back of them.

Some free money up front is cheap when the other side of the coin is long term losses.

Collingwood has a bit of trouble at the club

We have some issues at Collingwood. Just heard their captain Nick Maxwell on the radio and he's a class act. Talked about it, without talking about it. The kind of bloke that makes you want to invest with his team

Wrapping up Round 3 AFL 2012 - sports investments

We just posted to the blog, and we had a good week 3 investing in sports. Stop by and grab a few tips and see how you like the blog

Monday, 16 April 2012

Wake up - There`s good money to be made sports investing

Just posted week 10 to the blog.

Always amazes me that sports investment continues to be so exploitable - and love the fact that it gives me so much intellectual challenge.

Thats what it is... a real challenge.

Love it.

Sunday, 15 April 2012

Great win for the Hawks today.

Hawthorn were able to put up a gutsy performance and salute -29.5 points for us sports investment types. They are playing quite well, and have bounced back nicely from their loss to Geelong (which they should have won you could argue).

On to Round 3

Round 3 AFL lines and sports investment discussion

Round 3 is well underway, with a good win to Carlton on the Friday night. Eddie Betts wasn't able to take his huge grabs but it was a reasonable enjoyable game. Sports investment is going well, and we have Sunday positions.

AFL prices are up for sports investment.

AFL prices are up today. It`s always a crucial task to check the early prices are see if any of the sportsbetting lines are worth grabbing early.

The difference between Wednesday`s and Saturdays prices can be up to 5-10 points. Check and bet early if you need to.

Week 9 Sports Investment in the books.

Good to get this done and posted to the sports investment blog. Found an extra 15 units this week which was nice.

Look for a big week 10 to really keep things ticking over.

Good win for us and for our sports betting fund

Nice solid Geelong win today. The quality of this team cannot be underestimated. Work ethic and skill. They have it all. Sports betting line was value plus at $2.80

Hawthorn still with some work to do.

West Coast Eagles AFL 2011 season analysis of sports betting lines.

Today on the sports betting blog  we dealt with West Coast Eagles and their fantastic 2011 AFL season.

They performed very well, but were unlucky on a few occasions to not get the cover.

Stop by to read the article to get a really clear picture of how their season fared. Does it indicate how 2012 will go?

Busy Round 2

Bit of a busy round 2. The Sportsinvestment of the round was Carlton -the points, which saluted - and then some. We also favored WCEagles -points, but being round 2 -best erring on the side of patience - it will be rewarded. Long term.

Round 2 Continues and we post some Sports Betting prices

Round 2 is upon us and we are loving the sports investment profits that we are EARNING, not winning. I don't think there is much harder work than serious sports investment.

Still watching replays of Eddie's mark from last night and crunching MLB numbers, this weekend will be busy.

Enjoy the AFL.

Eddie Betts with big grabs, we lay the points and win sports investing with the blues

Two things were realised post Lions Blues. We are 2 - 0 in sports investment so far this AFL season, and Eddie Betts sure can take a decent grab.

Or two even - he really took off tonight! Our team layed to -20.5 points and added 15 units to the years total.

here's the Eddy grab.

Week 8 2012 Sports Investment results,

This week just shows just how much sports investing returns cycle up and down.

We couldn't hit an investment last week, and this week we didn't lose.

That's how we do.

The sport and politics of AFL

At the moment, a big debate is raging in AFL circles about the Melbourne football club and someone telling tales out of school.

This has led many to put a fork in Melbourne again for this season, citing a broken culture and bad apples amongst the bunch.

Even this afternoon the bookmakers have wound Melbourne out a further point and we are still a few days away from the game against the west coast eagles.

Sports Investment is a season long sport so position appropriately - don't look too far into short term issues.

Round 1 AFL investment wrap up

Over at the blog we love to predict, but also mark our own card. As we've said before, keeping good sports investment  records is the best thing you can do for your own punting.

Go enjoy, and good luck in Round 2.

Monday, 2 April 2012

Scarlett sighted... so was Ballantyne... what's a professional gambler to do!

Like most people assumed, Matty scarlett should get a nice holiday for his hit on Ballantyne. All sports investment professionals will take not as Scarlett is crucial to the Geelong backline.

It was unecessary and reckless. He needs to be put out for that as the AFL wants it out of the game.

Sunday, 1 April 2012

Richmond and their 2011 sports investment performance.

Richmond supporters are a long suffering lot.

So are any loyal Richmond punters. We take a look at whether a sports investor might be rewarded by creating a strategy around Richmond.

The professional gambler site.

The site has been busy- at the blog we have been discussing AFL line updates, team analysis, along with the usual profit reports and what not...

Most of the work at our end in reality though, is taking place behind the scenes. Sports Investment is really all about preparation, and the most profitable market of all is about to start up - Major League Baseball (MLB).

Don't miss out on adding baseball to your wagering rotation.

the big news of the round

AFL round 1 betting lines and investment thoughts.

Taking a look at round 1 AFL betting lines is always fun. Important to see if one can separate the value from these lines.

We only had one AFL round 1 sports investment, positioning 16 units on the Adelaide Crows, who were laying 24.5 points up in QLD against the Gold Coast Suns.

Sports Investment Analysis, Carlton 2011 AFL season.

The sportsbetting line analysis has been uploaded to the blog. This time we took a look at the Carlton Blues. Important analysis of how their 2011 season can be evaluated from a sports investment point of view.

Sports Investment Wrap Up - Results for week 7, 2012.

It's in the books - the numbers from our 7th week of sports investment in 2012.

Always important to carefully track your progress.

thanks to all of those who are along for the ride.

Gold coast suns and professional gambling.

The gold coast suns are the newest AFL team, but had a great 2011 as not much was expected of them. They managed to win 3 games, which is brilliant.

We took a look at their preformance from a sports investment point of view, and essentially wanted to know how a professional gambler would have assessed their season.

This is that review.

Where it's at for sure... Invest in sports.

Hi folks,

First game of AFL season 2012 is in the books. The swans were particularly uninspiring, and failed to cover the spread.

We didn't have a sports investment that night. Luckily, because anything could have happened that night.

Bet when you have the best of it I say.

Don't gamble, sports invest with the professionals.

Sydney's swans are the team we take a look at today. It's important to read between the lines and approach things from a professional sports investment point of view.

Not just punting on a random gut feel.

Enjoy a swans vid from the master.

Bookmakers are killing you. Invest in sports

It worries me that the bookies are crushing so many people so brutally. They will take it all if you let them.

Seemingly the word has not really gotten out yet about sports investing - but with the help of the blog I hope it soon will.

Be patient, and make the small wins count.

GWS up and about!
